Webster - Another Attribute of Tutoring

If I were to suggest an additional attribute for tutors, I would add reliability into the mix because tutees should be able to depend on their tutors to know the appropriate material for their course. With that being said, tutees shouldn't rely on their tutors for all the answers, but instead to point them in the right direction so they can do it on their own.

  1. Very true, one of the biggest problems I have incurred in the past is the tutee not even looking at their assignment until they came to sit with me. I need to expect them be prepared and they should expect me to be as prepared.

  2. I have also encountered that, but in my case they hadn't even bothered reading the chapter for the assignment. In this case, I referenced the sheet she signed at the beginning of our first session where she agreed to be prepared.
